I reserved the standard room when I booked this. It was very sub-par...out of date decorating, the furniture was severely worn, the carpet disgusting. My air conditioning didn't work and i had to call 3 times over 2 days before someone finally came to fix it. Luckily for me, it couldn't be fixed and the mechanic was nice enough to suggest I get upgraded to a Go-Room. This was great...the room was updated, clean, new...a much better experience.

I've made several trips to Vegas over the past few years. I try to stay at a different hotel each time, just because it is fun to try them all. This was my first stay at the Flamingo, and it was by far the worst hotel I've stayed at on the strip! The room was comped, and I didn't want to pay for the upgraded Go Room. Our room was just ok. The size was big, but seemed very dated. I also felt like I was staying in an abandoned area. No one else was really near us. I felt the over all hotel was dirty. The smell in the air of the casino was gross, the fake tropical smell. One night there was a homeless sleeping under the escalator near the Jimmy Buffet entrance of the hotel. I'm glad my boyfriend was wtih me that night because that whole hall way with the homeless man sleeping was totally empty. I didn't feel very secure there at all. We gambled there quite a bit and didn't win anything. The buffet was horrible, again the worst I've had on the strip! 3 months prior to this stay we stayed at Harrah's. They comped us a petite suite (we're really not big gamblers either). It was very nice, and a much much better experience. Also, the buffet was like a 5 star restaurant compared to Flamingo's. This was my last stay at Flamingo!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the location of the hotel, it was right smack in the middle of all action. It was infront of Ceasar's Palace, across the street was the Belagio dancing fountain, it was really close to the shop forum, Margaritaville was right next to the hotel and O'shae's casino was right next to margaritavill and all of these are in Flamingo hotel side. WOW! love it. The hotel was Nice it's in great shape. Food and the buffet delicious. The Pool was ginormous which consist of 2 seperate pools and they gave me a room in the 26th floor awesome view! WOW!!!. love it.

The 1st night was a disaster. After waiting in line an hour to check in They said they only had one non smoking room left. This looked like it was a meeting room with a murphy bed. You could feel every spring in the mattress; the decore was 1950's. The staff was very pleasant and helpful the next morning and they did move us a nicer room.

I'm not a complainer, but will do so now. I checked in for a room that I had booked and pre-paid 2 months prior. I had requested no smoking and was told it wasn't available and that the request did not have to be honered. I had 2 choices, take smoking or pay $* more a night, which I did not want to do. I took smoking and we hated it. Then got to the room and there were no working ice machines on the floor. When I called to report the ice machines not working/ not being there (as one was totally gone) I was instructed to go to a different floor for Ice. The hotel experience went down hill from there. In the past I've had a great experience at the Flam and love the pool and location of the hotel. I've stayed at the Flam numerous time, but this time things didn't go well and I may look elsewhere next trip.
